All the latest news and key insights you need from Geodnet
GEODNET is a decentralized physical infrastructure network that provides high-precision positioning data through a global network of community-operated GNSS reference stations. The network delivers real-time kinematic correction data, enabling centimeter-level location accuracy for connected devices and applications.
By combining blockchain incentives with Web3 coordination, GEODNET allows individuals and organizations to deploy GNSS stations, contribute correction data, and earn crypto rewards, creating an open alternative to centralized positioning service providers.
High-accuracy positioning data is essential for sectors such as autonomous vehicles, robotics, precision agriculture, construction, and geospatial analytics. Traditionally, this data is controlled by centralized RTK providers that are expensive, geographically limited, and difficult to scale.
GEODNET was created to overcome these limitations by decentralizing GNSS infrastructure, reducing access costs, expanding global coverage, and directly incentivizing independent station operators. The result is a more open, scalable, and transparent positioning network.
$GEOD is the native utility token of the GEODNET ecosystem. It is used to reward GNSS station operators, incentivize network expansion, and coordinate economic activity across the protocol.
Token rewards are distributed based on station uptime, data quality, and geographic coverage. As the network continues to decentralize, $GEOD is expected to support governance participation and long-term ecosystem alignment.
GEODNET is initiated, beginning development of a decentralized RTK GNSS reference station network built on a DePIN model.
GEODNET rolls out its early public network, with community-operated GNSS base stations coming online to validate the decentralized infrastructure model.
The $GEOD token generation event is completed, introducing token-based incentives for node operators and data providers.
GEODNET surpasses 5,000 active GNSS stations worldwide, signaling network scale maturity and entry into a commercial readiness phase.
