Wyoming FRNT Chainlink Proof of Reserve explained: how reserve verification works, what Secure Mint adds, and what remains unverified.
Author: Kritika Gupta
2nd September 2026-The Wyoming Stable Token Commission adopted Chainlink Proof of Reserve as FRNT’s exclusive on-chain verification layer. The Wyoming FRNT Chainlink integration was announced jointly in a morning press release. Chainlink and the Commission also posted the news on X within minutes of each other. The announcement is only hours old, so some details remain unconfirmed.

@chainlink @wyostable Few believe in @chainlink as much as I do. I am in a conundrum. I want it to $LINK absolutely everything. On the other hand, if it does and there is a catastrophic failure, the consequences could be unimaginable. This responsibility must weigh heavily on team @chainlink

High attention and emotional sentiment detected.
The Frontier Stable Token, ticker FRNT, is redeemable for one U.S. dollar. It is issued by the Wyoming Stable Token Commission, an instrumentality of the state chaired by Governor Mark Gordon.
The Commission calls FRNT the first fiat-backed, fully reserved stable token from a U.S. public entity. Importantly, it is a special obligation of a statutory trust account. It is not backed by Wyoming’s full faith and credit.
Executive Director Anthony Apollo framed the adoption as a trust upgrade. He said the state is “providing transparent, verifiable confirmation that the Frontier Stable Token is fully backed by high-quality reserve assets,” according to the joint release.
Chainlink Labs Chief Business Officer Johann Eid added his own framing. He said the move shows “how governments can leverage the Chainlink platform to bring trusted, fully-verifiable onchain financial infrastructure into production at scale.”
Chainlink Proof of Reserve is an oracle data product, not a financial-statement audit. That distinction matters when evaluating the Wyoming FRNT Chainlink integration.
The reserve figure originates off-chain. The Network Firm examines FRNT’s reserve and supply balances under AICPA standards. A decentralized oracle network then publishes the verified figure through an on-chain feed.
Using an independent CPA examination makes the system stronger than relying solely on a self-reported balance. However, it is still not a PCAOB financial-statement audit. Regulators have warned that proof-of-reserve reports may not capture an issuer’s full liabilities.
The Commission is also “in the process of adopting” Chainlink Secure Mint. Once activated, it would block new FRNT minting unless verified reserves meet or exceed the total token supply. Officials have not confirmed that Secure Mint is live.
OCT could not independently confirm a live feed reading at publication. No FRNT page appeared on data.chain.link during this research window. Because the news is same-day, the feed may be permissioned, unlisted, or not yet public.
The current attested reserve dollar figure is also unverified here. The Commission’s attestation page at stabletoken.wyo.gov returned a 503 error while we checked. As a result, we are not printing a reserve total we could not load.
On-chain, the token is easier to trace. The official EVM contract is 0x5E817F2AbCCB9095585D26c2a3ce234a440574Fc, verified on Etherscan as Frontier Stable Token. Readers should treat any unofficial Solana “FRNT” ticker with caution and confirm addresses on the Commission site.
Key milestones in Wyoming’s FRNT stablecoin development
Wyoming establishes the legal framework for issuing a fully reserved public stable token.
The state creates the Wyoming Stable Token Commission to oversee issuance and operations.
The federal law introduces reserve and monthly disclosure standards for permitted payment stablecoin issuers.
Wyoming launches the fully reserved Frontier Stable Token across multiple blockchain networks.
FRNT becomes available to the public, initially through Kraken on Solana.
The Commission launches a daily attestation dashboard with The Network Firm.
Chainlink becomes FRNT’s exclusive on-chain asset-verification infrastructure, although the live feed address remains unverified.
Watch for the live feed address, update cadence, reserve readings and activation of Chainlink Secure Mint.
The “first” claim behind the Wyoming FRNT Chainlink announcement is narrower than it sounds. FRNT already publishes daily attestations on the Commission’s website, exceeding the GENIUS Act’s monthly disclosure baseline for private issuers.
The significant change is moving that verified reserve data on-chain. According to the issuers, FRNT will become the first U.S. public-entity stable token to publish verified reserve figures on-chain. This does not mean FRNT is the first state-issued stablecoin or the first asset to use Chainlink Proof of Reserve.
The “exceeds GENIUS” claim also requires context. Legal scholars at Columbia’s CLS Blue Sky Blog argue that the GENIUS Act may not apply to state issuers. If that interpretation holds, Wyoming is voluntarily providing additional transparency rather than exceeding a federal requirement that legally binds FRNT.
The rhetoric is large, but the token is tiny. FRNT showed about 968,000 tokens outstanding on RWA.xyz. Its market value sat near $968,000, and only 98 holders were counted. Monthly transfer volume sat around $6,800.
Supply spreads across eight chains. Solana held roughly 394,000 FRNT. Ethereum, Polygon, Optimism, Arbitrum, Base, and Avalanche each held near 95,000. RWA.xyz showed Hedera at zero.
The market did not cheer on the day. LINK opened near $11.23 on the day. It then traded down about 2 to 3 percent, according to same-day prints. So insiders read the news as validation, yet the tape did not confirm it.
The next signals to watch in the Wyoming FRNT Chainlink rollout are concrete. A public data.chain.link feed page would provide the first confirmation. A disclosed update heartbeat and live Secure Mint deployment would move the integration from announcement toward verifiable production.
The reserve composition remains another open question. Franklin Templeton manages the reserves, while Fiduciary Trust holds them in segregated custody. A functioning feed should account for aggregate FRNT supply across all eight supported networks, rather than reporting one chain’s supply alone.
Distribution is also expanding. Kraken already lists FRNT, while zerohash has said it is seeking licensed status to mint and redeem the token. These partnerships provide distribution infrastructure, but they do not prove user demand.
The announcement follows a busy summer for Wyoming. In August, the Commission moved FRNT’s cross-chain infrastructure to Chainlink CCIP following a security review. Adopting Chainlink Proof of Reserve now extends the same relationship from cross-chain transfers into reserve verification.
For now, Chainlink Proof of Reserve gives Wyoming a public-sector template that larger issuers may study. The scale is symbolic, yet the plumbing is real. This article is informational and not financial advice, so always verify contracts and do your own research.
