Steady attention without excessive speculation.
July 28, 2026 – Machi Big Brother sits less than $20 away from another liquidation on Hyperliquid. Arkham flagged the position at 12:00 UTC. His 25x long on 3,000 ETH is barely holding on.
High Signal Summary For A Quick Glance
According to Arkham, his on-chain trading account is down to roughly $160,000. The mark price sits just above his liquidation level. So one small move in ETH could close the trade.
Arkham shared a live Hyperliquid screenshot at 12:00:51 UTC. It shows a single 25x long of 3,000 ETH. The position is worth about $5.63 million.
The entry price sits at 1,913.1. Meanwhile the mark price has slid to roughly 1,877.8. As a result, the unrealized loss reads about $105,898, or negative 46.1% on the trade.
The liquidation price is 1,859.9. That leaves only about $18 between the mark and the wipeout line. In other words, the “less than $20 away” claim checks out.
His cross margin sits near $225,337, according to Arkham. Funding paid on the position has already reached roughly negative $110,697. So the funding drip keeps eating into his buffer.
To stay alive, Machi Big Brother keeps raising fresh margin. Arkham says he just listed two more Bored Apes for sale. The plan is simple. He turns NFTs into collateral before the position dies.
This is not new behavior. On 24 July, Arkham reported a $2 million liquidation. Machi sold one Bored Ape for about $16,000 to top up his account that same morning.
He has leaned on his NFT stash for months. Over a prior stretch, he sold 34 Bored Apes for roughly 326 ETH, according to on-chain trackers. The BAYC floor now sits near 8.5 ETH, or about $16,000 per Ape.
Machi’s drawdown and liquidation-risk sequence
Machi’s crypto portfolio was reportedly valued above $80 million.
Progressive losses from leveraged perpetual positions steadily reduced his capital.
Earlier margin pressure reportedly forced Machi to sell NFTs and refill his account.
His position moved within less than $20 of its estimated liquidation level.
Machi listed two additional Bored Ape NFTs to raise funds and restore margin.
The next update will reveal whether he avoided liquidation or lost the position.
Machi Big Brother is not a casual trader. He is Jeffrey Huang, a former musician and one of the largest Bored Ape collectors. On Hyperliquid, though, he has earned the nickname “King of Crypto Liquidations.”
Huang built a name well before Hyperliquid. He co-founded Mithril, backed Cream Finance, and once ran the L.A. Boyz music group. At his peak, he held more than 200 Bored Apes.
His perps losses now top $80 million since last year, according to Arkham. The firm pegged the total at $80.78 million on 24 July. Each near-miss adds to the tally.
It was not always this grim. His unrealized profit peaked near $44.8 million around September 2025. Then ETH fell hard from its cycle high near $4,700, and his high-leverage longs unwound.
Traders have counted hundreds of liquidations across his account. Still, he keeps reopening the same trade. He stays long ETH, and he stays highly leveraged.
The numbers behind the streak are stark. Some trackers count 262 liquidations in a single month and more than 335 over the account’s life. Yet he refuses to size down.
Machi Big Brother’s Hyperliquid position and liquidation-risk snapshot
A Machi Big Brother liquidation follows simple perps math. He posts margin, then borrows to control a far larger position. Here, 25x leverage turns about $225,000 into $5.6 million of exposure.
The liquidation price marks the point where losses eat the margin. Once the mark price touches 1,859.9, Hyperliquid’s engine closes the trade automatically. There is no reversal and no appeal.
Funding costs add another drain. On perps, longs often pay shorts a periodic fee to hold the trade. Machi has already paid roughly $110,697 in funding on this position alone.
Selling Bored Apes buys time. Fresh USDC collateral pushes the liquidation price lower and widens the buffer. So each Ape sale is really a bet that ETH bounces before the next drawdown.
This article is not financial advice. Extreme leverage can erase an account in seconds, as this position shows.
For now, the position is still open, according to Arkham’s post. Whether it survives depends entirely on ETH’s next move. A drop of roughly 1% could trigger the liquidation.
His verified X account has stayed quiet on the risk. Hyperliquid has not commented either. So Arkham’s dashboard remains the clearest public window into the trade.
Arkham puts his total tracked entity value near $233,985. Most of that sits in the Hyperliquid account, according to the dashboard. So the Bored Ape sales are now his main lifeline.
On X, the story landed as another chapter of the “King of Liquidations” meme. Analytics accounts like Lookonchain have tracked each near-miss for months. Meanwhile some traders brace for fresh Bored Ape sell pressure at the floor.
The saga has turned into on-chain theater for crypto traders. Some watch for a wave of NFT sell pressure. Others simply wonder how long the margin, and the Apes, can last.

@arkham Seeing these massive losses literally messes with my head — I feel like I’m going insane. Why do people do this with so much money? It’s honestly heartbreaking. I work day and night, constantly studying and grinding, just hoping to one day reach $360,000. That’s all I want.
