Ondo Finance has announced the formation of the Global Markets Alliance (GMA), a coalition designed to bring real-world assets like stocks, bonds, and treasuries to the blockchain. The GMA brings together key players from the crypto and blockchain space, including the Solana Foundation, BitGo, Jupiter Exchange, 1inch, Fireblocks, Trust Wallet, and Bitget Wallet.
This collaboration aims to standardize how tokenized securities are issued, traded, and managed across different platforms. By leveraging smart contracts and cross-chain compatibility, the alliance seeks to overcome key barriers to institutional adoption, such as fragmentation, inefficiency, and regulatory uncertainty.

Tokenized securities are rapidly becoming a focal point for institutions entering the crypto space. These digital representations of traditional assets offer 24/7 access, lower fees, faster settlement, and programmable capabilities. GMA’s emphasis on interoperability means assets can move seamlessly between wallets, custodians, and platforms.
Solana provides the high-speed infrastructure, while 1inch is set to power backend liquidity and APIs. Custody providers like BitGo and Fireblocks will ensure security and compliance, offering a complete stack for institutional-grade deployment. With $500 million in capital flowing into Solana’s ecosystem, Ondo Finance is well-positioned to lead this initiative.
Despite the strong market response, regulatory challenges remain. The U.S. SEC continues to scrutinize tokenization frameworks, and the upcoming DeFi roundtable may impact how projects like GMA evolve in the U.S. Still, this alliance signals a serious step toward bringing capital markets onchain—and doing it with credibility, scale, and compliance in mind.
