@StarPlatinum_ floyds gonna floyds but really tho if he's selling at $2.9k did he even own it or just a minted bag? the real question is how many people are still convinced this is a joke they're not laughing at and why they're not laughing at it in public anymore
Wait so Floyd Mayweather created a FOMO account and casually shilled a new $FLOYD token I mean there’s no way the team behind already knew that right? He apparently sold his bag for just $2,900 missing close to $300,000 profit https://t.co/5eR0hG9Tjk

@StarPlatinum_ What about the bundled wallets? You really think he sold everything with how big his X account is? I personally don't believe it. He's probably still holding a big bag in his side wallets

@StarPlatinum_ Selling for $2,900 when it was worth $300,000 more is a wild miss, but the team knowing beforehand doesn’t follow from him selling early

High attention and emotional sentiment detected.
The post read simply, “hello @fomo,” followed by the token’s contract address. It went live around 18:10 UTC and vanished soon after. By then, screenshots had already spread across crypto X.
The $FLOYD token launched on Pump.fun at roughly 17:03 UTC, about an hour before the post. On-chain records on Solscan list the creator address as FuJBCAv2Y66SQqCGRZjEfCFDDjXVQCvk9qBFRNZR3yR2.
The Pump.fun creator profile goes by FloydMoneyM, and dev holdings show 0%. So the token sat live for a short window before the famous account amplified it.
After Mayweather’s account shared the contract, buyers piled in fast. The token spiked to an all-time-high market cap near $1.28 million, according to Pump.fun. Then it dropped just as sharply.
It later graduated from the Pump.fun bonding curve to PumpSwap. Within 12 to 14 hours of launch, the market cap sat in the $120,000 to $150,000 range. Trading volume still topped $4 million, and holders numbered around 3,000, per DexScreener and Solscan data.
The callout posts came later that evening. Accounts like @StarPlatinum_ flagged the trade around 22:55 UTC, hours after the pump peaked. By then, the original post and the linked FOMO account were gone.
FOMO is a social trading app from FOMO Labs that launched in May 2025. Users fund a balance with Apple Pay, a card, or crypto, then trade memecoins across chains like Solana and Base.
The app covers gas fees and shows a public feed of other traders’ buys, sells, and profit. Crucially, FOMO is not a launchpad. Tokens like $FLOYD are created elsewhere, usually on Pump.fun, then traded and promoted through apps like it.
Celebrity shill launches tend to follow one script. A token goes live on a bonding-curve platform like Pump.fun. Then a famous account posts the contract address.
Retail buyers ape in on the name, and early holders sell into the fresh liquidity. Real pre-coordination would usually show up on-chain as clustered early buys or links between the creator wallet and the promoter. In this case, the $FLOYD token existed for only about an hour before the verified post.
Here is where the story gets messy. Community posts claim a FOMO account tied to the callout bought $FLOYD early, then sold for a small profit.
The account @CryptoGorilla wrote that the seller banked about $5,900 and would have been up $288,000 had they held. The account @StarPlatinum_ put the figure near $2,900 and roughly $300,000 in missed gains.
The numbers do not match, and nobody has confirmed either one. So far, no public transaction hashes tie a specific wallet to Mayweather alone. For now, treat every profit figure as an unverified social claim.
This is not Mayweather’s first crypto controversy. In 2018, the SEC charged him for failing to disclose payments to promote initial coin offerings.
He took $100,000 from Centra Tech plus $200,000 from two other issuers. Mayweather then settled for about $614,775 in total and accepted a three-year ban on promoting securities. Centra Tech’s founders later faced fraud charges.
He also promoted EthereumMax around his 2021 exhibition with Logan Paul. Because of that history, many traders read the Floyd Mayweather FLOYD token episode as a familiar pattern.

The $FLOYD token launches on Solana through Pump.fun.
Account ownership and creation time remain unconfirmed.
His verified X account shares “hello @fomo” and the $FLOYD contract address. The post later disappears.
No independently verified transaction hash or timestamp links the purchase to Mayweather.
Community reports claim approximately $2,900–$5,900 in profit. The amount, transaction time and wallet ownership remain unverified.
@StarPlatinum_ posts allegations about the promotion and early sale.
Approximate times follow the supplied research. Verified timestamps do not yet establish the account creation or alleged trades. Untimed entries follow the supplied narrative order.
Not everyone believes the account was really his. Some users suggested the FOMO account could belong to an impersonator, or that someone opened it after seeing the X post.
Others floated a possible hack. As of now, no statement has come from Mayweather’s camp, the $FLOYD creator, or FOMO to confirm or deny anything.
Major outlets such as CoinDesk and The Block have not covered the event either. So the Floyd Mayweather FLOYD token story lives almost entirely on X.
Sentiment leaned skeptical and amused. Many traders framed the episode as a fumble, mocking the early sale and the deleted post.
Memes about paper hands spread quickly. A minority defended the timing, while others simply questioned whether the account was authentic at all. So far, the discussion has stayed on X, with little pickup on Reddit or in major Telegram groups.
The token still trades, though far below its brief peak. Liquidity sits in the tens of thousands of dollars, so the price can swing hard on small orders.
Watch for an on-chain sleuth, such as ZachXBT, to publish wallet-level proof. A clear statement from FOMO or Mayweather would also settle the authenticity question fast.
Memecoins like this carry extreme risk, and most buyers after a celebrity post end up holding the drawdown. None of this is financial advice. Always verify on-chain before chasing a shilled contract.
