Collaterize launches $COLLAT staking on Rain.fi, enabling instant liquidity via stCOLLAT while earning staking rewards on Solana.

September 26, 2025 — Collaterize has announced the official launch of $COLLAT staking on Rain.fi, integrating its Real World Asset (RWA) ecosystem with Rain.fi’s lending protocol on Solana. The rollout introduces Liquid as a Service, enabling token holders to earn staking rewards while retaining instant liquidity through stCOLLAT, a liquid staked version of $COLLAT.
The new feature allows users to deposit $COLLAT into Rain.fi’s lending pools and receive stCOLLAT in return. This tokenized version remains usable across DeFi for lending, trading, or collateral, while the underlying $COLLAT continues generating staking rewards.
Traditional staking locks tokens, limiting their use for months. Rain.fi’s Liquid as a Service removes this trade-off by issuing transferable receipts like stCOLLAT, which accrue staking yield while staying composable across DeFi.
Compared to standard staking yields of 8–12% APY, liquid staking maintains similar rewards with the added flexibility of collateral use in borrowing or leverage trading. This efficiency is possible thanks to Solana’s high throughput and low fees, avoiding gas-driven inefficiencies common on Ethereum.
The launch comes as Solana’s DeFi TVL hit $13 billion in September 2025, a 165% increase year-to-date. By making staking liquid and composable, Collaterize and Rain.fi could accelerate Solana’s role in RWA tokenization.
For issuers, Liquid as a Service means faster capital access without immobilizing liquidity. For users, it removes the opportunity cost of staking while driving higher transaction volumes on Solana. Analysts suggest the model could soon expand to additional tokens beyond $COLLAT, setting a new standard in DeFi.
