July 29, 2025 CoinShares, Europe’s leading digital asset manager with over $9 billion AUM, has launched the CoinShares Physical Staked SEI ETP (Ticker: CSEI). This new product allows regulated access to Sei Network’s native token ($SEI), designed to appeal to both institutional and retail investors.
The ETP is listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange, and thanks to its MiCA-compliant structure, it’s accessible across Europe through traditional brokerage platforms. There’s no management fee, and investors also receive a 2% annualized staking reward—a rare combination in today’s market.
By removing operational and custody hurdles, CoinShares is making it easier than ever for institutions to participate in blockchain innovation.
The Sei Network is known for its ultra-fast 400ms transaction finality, which makes it perfect for trading infrastructure and real-time DeFi applications. With this ETP, investors don’t need to manage wallets, private keys, or staking directly—everything is handled securely through CoinShares.
Because of its structure:
Such developments signal growing confidence in blockchain-based finance among traditional investors.
Although often used interchangeably, ETPs and ETFs are not the same.
Here’s a quick breakdown:
| Feature | ETPs (Exchange-Traded Products) | ETFs (Exchange-Traded Funds) |
|---|---|---|
| Structure | Includes ETFs, ETNs, ETCs (broader category) | Subset of ETPs focused on pooled funds |
| Backing | Can be physically backed (like crypto, metals) | Typically backed by a basket of stocks/bonds |
| Staking Rewards | Possible with staked crypto ETPs | Rare or unavailable |
| Redemption Model | Often redeemable in-kind or for cash equivalents | Open-ended fund structure |
| Use Case | Crypto exposure, commodities, specific assets | Index tracking, stock diversification |
| Regulatory Fit | Custom structures, useful for niche assets | Heavily regulated, best for traditional assets |
| Trading Platform | Traded like stocks on major exchanges | Same as ETPs |
This makes ETPs more suitable for crypto exposure, especially when staking and asset control are involved.
