July 10, 2025 — The German government has officially approved a grant that will cover half of the development costs for Nuco.cloud’s AI-focused Layer-2 blockchain. This grant is not only a financial boost but also a major vote of confidence in the project’s long-term vision.
• Layer-2 Blockchain Acceleration
The funding will directly contribute to faster development and deployment of Nuco.cloud’s high-performance Layer-2 solution.
• Expanded Feature Set
Nuco.cloud plans to use the grant to increase the scalability and functionality of its decentralized compute marketplace.
• Regulatory and Public-Private Compliance
Part of the capital will be invested in ensuring the project remains compliant with Germany’s evolving blockchain and AI regulations.
This puts Nuco.cloud among a very small group of crypto-native companies that have received state funding in Europe. Most governments have been hesitant to publicly support crypto projects—but Nuco.cloud’s focus on AI, decentralization, and infrastructure has clearly struck the right chord.
With the U.S. and China leading the global AI race, Europe is under pressure to foster homegrown, sovereign technologies. This grant indicates that AI + Web3 infrastructure is becoming a strategic priority for the EU.
Nuco.cloud stated that this funding is just the beginning. Development will ramp up immediately, and community members can expect further updates and ecosystem expansion news in the coming months.
Before launching nuco.cloud, Tobias Adler was already trading Forex and stocks back in 2011. He entered crypto in 2012—before Ethereum even existed. By 2013, he had founded Iron Eagle Capital, pioneering tools to optimize trading performance.
