In a move that marks the culmination of a multi-year transition, EOS will officially rebrand to Vaulta on May 14, 2025. The rebrand includes the launch of a 1:1 token swap, replacing $EOS with $A as the network’s native utility token. Vaulta Foundation announced that the swap will be accessible via the Vaulta Swap Portal, hosted on Unicove, with no fees or slippage involved.
Vaulta Foundation CEO Yves La Rose shared insights into the strategic shift during the Blockworks Digital Asset Summit 2025. He emphasized that the rebrand reflects Vaulta’s ambition to pioneer Web3 banking. This transformation represents more than just a name change; it’s a decisive step forward in our mission to deliver open, accessible financial access for everyone,” La Rose stated.
The rebrand, first announced in March 2025, aims to evolve EOS’s decentralized infrastructure into a robust Web3 banking platform. Vaulta’s mission focuses on integrating decentralized finance with traditional financial systems to create a secure, scalable, and inclusive ecosystem.
The rebrand will officially activate on May 14 through a block producer multi-signature (MSIG) proposal. This proposal sets the Vaulta token contract live and establishes $A as the network’s official ticker.
Timeline Overview:
The swap process allows $EOS holders to convert their tokens 1:1 into $A through the Vaulta Swap Portal. The swap is bi-directional for the first four months, enabling users to switch back and forth between $EOS and $A. After this period, only $EOS to $A swaps will be supported.
The Vaulta Swap Portal, the only official platform recommended by the Vaulta Foundation, will facilitate the swap. The process is designed to be straightforward:
For security, users are urged to avoid unofficial platforms and phishing attempts. Vaulta Foundation has confirmed that there are no airdrops or incentives tied to the swap. Any claims suggesting otherwise are scams.
The rebrand to Vaulta introduces several changes while retaining core functionalities:
What’s New:
What Remains the Same:
Vaulta is a brand evolution, not a hard fork or reset. All existing smart contracts and decentralized applications will continue to function seamlessly.
The rebrand marks Vaulta’s push toward becoming a leader in Web3 banking. Vaulta will leverage strategic partnerships with industry leaders like Ceffu, Spirit Blockchain, and Blockchain Insurance Inc. These collaborations will drive Vaulta’s “Four Pillars”: Wealth Management, Consumer Payments, Portfolio Management, and Insurance.
Vaulta’s architecture will continue to support exSat, a Bitcoin digital banking solution. This integration will transform Bitcoin into the backbone of Vaulta’s decentralized financial ecosystem.
Yves La Rose will further outline this vision at Bitcoin 2025, where he is scheduled to present on May 29.
For $EOS holders, the upcoming Vaulta rebrand is an opportunity to seamlessly transition to $A without losing value or paying fees. With no technical changes or migration, your existing assets will carry over to Vaulta. If you wish to access Vaulta’s expanding ecosystem, the swap ensures you remain integrated.
As always, perform your due diligence and swap only through the official Vaulta Swap Portal. Not financial advice.
Apart from a few questions that the community members pushed in the comments (what was good to see was that Vaulta had already answered them on their website), the community seemed decently pleased with the news and looked forward to the swap.
