EdgeX expanded rapidly during 2025. In April, the platform processed approximately $2B in monthly trading volume. By October, monthly volume reached roughly $137.5B, representing a 6,800% increase over six months.
This growth aligned with rising demand for onchain perpetual products, particularly during periods of heightened market volatility. EdgeX benefited from strong liquidity provision and sustained trader activity throughout the year.
Several factors contributed to EdgeX’s rise in fee generation:
Together, these elements created a feedback loop where higher volume translated directly into higher fee revenue.
EdgeX faces increasing competition from other perpetual DEX platforms as trading volumes expand across chains. Maintaining fee leadership requires sustained liquidity depth and consistent trader engagement. Regulatory scrutiny of derivatives platforms may also influence future growth.
Looking ahead, continued demand for onchain perpetuals could support further revenue expansion. Product innovation and risk management will play a critical role in determining whether EdgeX can maintain its position among top fee-generating networks.
