DeepBook App launches in alpha on Sui with spot trading, one-minute BTC prediction markets, and an API for developers.
Author: Kritika Gupta
24th September 2026– DeepBook Trading Foundation launched the DeepBook App on Sui mainnet. The team framed the release as a live alpha. The app opens two products at once, so traders get a shared spot order book and one-minute Bitcoin prediction markets in a single interface.

The order book behind $20B+ of Sui volume just got its own trading app Spot is the plumbing traders already know. The product that caught my attention is a prediction market that lets you trade the exact $BTC level on your chart Here's everything you need to know 👇 What https://t.co/unq3PfXiy6 https://t.co/5h1Ye32IOM

I deposited some money into @DeepBookonSui because I want to try the alpha app out for myself. I want to experience the trading, explore the different features, and see how everything feels as an actual user. With Spot, Predict, Vault and Portfolio all coming together, I think https://t.co/JlHPVV8419 https://t.co/xF3OIczV3w

DeepBook, the leading Sui order book with more than $20B USD in volume, just went live with their app, giving traders spot access their order book with many Sui-native pairs but also the majors. What's cool is that all funds stay in your wallet, there are no withdrawals or https://t.co/Mum4rx8ZXv

High attention and emotional sentiment detected.
The launch went public through a post from @DeepBookonSui at 13:13 GMT. A same-day Sui Foundation blog confirmed the app is live at app.deepbook.xyz. It also ships a public API and SDK from day one.
DeepBook is Sui’s native shared order book, and other apps route through it. Until now, it worked mostly as plumbing. So this marks a real shift, because it adds a first-party front-end on top of that book.
The launch bundles two products. Spot gives direct access to Sui’s on-chain central limit order book. Predict then offers Bitcoin prediction and range markets, with windows as short as one minute.
Adeniyi Abiodun, co-founder and chief product officer at Mysten Labs, backed the release in the Foundation blog. He said the app gives traders one trusted place to access shared liquidity while keeping control of their funds. Glenn Kennedy, CEO of DeepBook Trading Foundation, also called Spot and Predict the first two products on a longer roadmap.
Predict is the headline feature, and it starts with Bitcoin only. Each market is a short-dated range contract on one BTC price at one expiry. So if the settlement price lands inside your chosen range, the position pays a fixed amount in USDC. If it misses, the payout is zero.
The design is peer-to-pool. A shared pool acts as the counterparty, so you never wait for another trader to take the other side. Quotes then come from Block Scholes volatility oracles, which lets the app price any strike on demand.
Settlement leans on two oracles. First, the system uses the exact Pyth price at expiry. If that price is missing 30 seconds later, it instead falls back to a Block Scholes minute-boundary spot. Trading also halts two seconds before expiry.
Aslan Tashtanov, the DeepBook lead, called Predict the first ever peer-to-pool protocol for options. He said the model supports one-minute markets, starting with BTC up or down. For context, that structure sits closer to a short-dated option than to Polymarket’s multi-day event contracts.

Spot is the more familiar half of the DeepBook App. It matches resting bids and asks by price, then by time. That order-book model differs from the pool math behind most decentralized exchanges.
An automated market maker prices trades from a formula, so you trade against pool inventory. A central limit order book instead matches real orders from makers and takers. DeepBook keeps that book on-chain, so many Sui apps can route into one pool of liquidity.
Named pairs at launch include SUI/USDC, xBTC/USDC, DEEP/USDC, and WAL/USDC. The project says more than 15 apps already route through the book. It also stresses self-custody, so funds stay in your wallet until a trade fills.
Access is where the official story gets messy. The announcement tweet said the app is live in alpha. Tashtanov then added, in his own post, that the alpha is live for waitlisted users. Yet the Sui Foundation blog skips the word alpha and simply says the app is live.
The waitlist numbers also diverge. The Foundation cites more than 150,000 signups, while the marketing site shows 120,000-plus. Both figures are official, so the gap stays unexplained.
The project also promised waitlisted members a private event with the team and $5,000 in trading balance. Geography matters too. The app blocks users in several countries, including China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, and Singapore. United States users can trade Spot, but not Predict.
Market data around the launch calls for caution. DeepBook’s combined total value locked sat near $12.6 million on 24 September, according to DefiLlama. Its cumulative trading volume topped $20 billion over several years, so that number is not a launch-day spike.
The 24-hour volume prints also clash. DefiLlama showed roughly $8 million to $11 million, while the deepbook.xyz dashboard showed $41.2 million. The first-party figure stays unreconciled, so treat it as a dashboard claim for now.
Token prices tell a mixed story as well. CoinGecko listed DEEP near $0.019 on 24 September, up about 26% over seven days. SUI, meanwhile, sat slightly red on the day after a 16% jump on 21 September. So the tape does not support any claim that the tweet moved prices.
Some gaps still sit in plain view. Official Predict docs on 14 September described a deployment with expired, unsettled markets and no oracle updates. The 24 September launch now asserts live one-minute BTC markets, so the docs and the marketing have not fully caught up.
A published fee schedule for the app is also missing. Protocol docs say traders pay fees in DEEP or the input token, and staked DEEP can cut taker fees. One community review argued that range trades pay fees on both bounds, though the project has not confirmed that.
Kennedy framed Spot and Predict as the start of a longer roadmap. So expect more markets, clearer docs, and a wider rollout beyond the waitlist. For now, the DeepBook App is a live alpha with real mainnet contracts and gated access. None of this is financial advice, and short-dated prediction markets carry real risk.
