Steady attention without excessive speculation.
21st May 2026 – Bitwise Asset Management published the wallet addresses for its spot Bitwise Hyperliquid ETF (BHYP). As a result, anyone can now verify that the fund accumulated and staked roughly $19.78 million in HYPE tokens.
Arkham Intelligence flagged the on-chain activity on May 21. Specifically, Bitwise-linked addresses purchased HYPE and immediately delegated it to validators. At the time of Arkham’s post, the position showed about $2.4 million in unrealized gains.
BHYP began trading on the NYSE on May 15. That was one day after Bitwise announced the launch. It is also the first spot HYPE ETF to go live in the United States.
High Signal Summary For A Quick Glance
Bitwise has a track record of on-chain transparency. In fact, the firm was the first ETF issuer to publish wallet addresses for its spot Bitcoin ETF (BITB). Because of that precedent, the same approach now extends to BHYP.
In an X post on May 20, Bitwise wrote: “We’re publishing the Bitwise Hyperliquid ETF ($BHYP) wallet addresses. Why? Hyperliquid’s DNA is all about transparency. Everything is onchain. Don’t trust, verify.”
The primary tracked address is 0x6183AeCb22b09b4CB167F2B42C611243C7E74318. As a result, anyone can now monitor the fund’s holdings and staking activity in real time.
Staking on Hyperliquid is not the same as simply holding. Instead, it is a delegated Proof-of-Stake system. Token holders delegate HYPE to validators that secure the Layer 1 network.
In return, stakers earn rewards from token emissions. The trade-off is a 7-day unstaking queue, so the tokens cannot be sold instantly. Consequently, staked supply is removed from the liquid float.
For an ETF, staking adds another dimension. Bitwise Onchain Solutions handles the delegation in-house. Because of this, staking rewards flow into the fund’s net asset value. That could boost returns over a simple hold strategy.
Matt Hougan, Bitwise CIO, said at launch: “Hyperliquid has emerged as one of the most compelling investment opportunities in crypto today. BHYP is designed to give investors convenient exposure to that potential.”
According to Arkham’s tracking, Bitwise-linked addresses accumulated about $19.78 million in HYPE. They then staked the entire amount. The unrealized gain of roughly $2.4 million reflects recent price momentum.
HYPE currently trades between $55 and $57.40. Its market cap sits between $13.3 billion and $13.6 billion. As a result, it ranks among the top 11 crypto assets by market capitalization.
In addition, trading volume regularly exceeds $1 billion per day, according to CoinGecko data. Meanwhile, Hyperliquid’s total value locked sits between $5.3 billion and $5.7 billion, per DefiLlama.
Bitwise is not the only firm eyeing a HYPE ETF. Both 21Shares and Grayscale also filed for HYPE-related products with the SEC. Bitwise moved first, however, and secured the launch while competitors remain in the filing stage.
The original S-1 filing dates back to September 2025. Amended filings then followed in April 2026. CoinDesk and FXStreet both covered the filings and the broader competitive landscape.
In short, the ETF wrapper gives investors regulated exposure to HYPE. They do not need a self-custody wallet or seed phrase. Furthermore, staking rewards pass through to the fund.
Bitwise’s known crypto ETF/fund positions
The dominant reaction on X has been bullish. For instance, users called the immediate staking a “flex” and a sign of “serious long-term conviction.” Similarly, the address disclosure reinforced Bitwise’s reputation for transparency.
Still, some skeptics questioned whether the move reflects genuine institutional conviction. Others raised concerns about concentration risk if a few players dominate HYPE inflows.
A broader debate is also forming around TradFi entering DeFi-native ecosystems. Some view the Bitwise Hyperliquid ETF as validation of institutional rotation on-chain. Conversely, others remain cautious about the gap between narrative and long-term fundamentals.
Several details are still unclear. For example, the exact breakdown between ETF holdings and Bitwise treasury capital has not been disclosed. Likewise, precise purchase prices and transaction timestamps are not public.
The current staking APY on these positions is also unconfirmed. Whether Bitwise plans additional large accumulations remains an open question as well.
In other words, the long-term performance picture for BHYP will take months to materialize. That includes inflows, tracking error, and staking contribution to returns.
The wallet addresses are now live and publicly monitored. As a result, every future purchase and staking transaction will be visible on-chain. That gives BHYP a level of transparency that most traditional ETFs cannot match.
Meanwhile, competing filings from 21Shares and Grayscale could bring additional HYPE ETF products to market soon. Consequently, the scale of institutional flows into HYPE will determine whether Bitwise’s first-mover advantage holds.

@arkham Bitwise announcing their ETF addresses and stacking nearly $20M $HYPE, then staking it immediately is TradFi showing serious long-term conviction. Already up $2.4M unrealized while locking supply tight. This is exactly how real institutional rotation starts in on-chain
