Steady attention without excessive speculation.
Kim posted a blunt message to his roughly 417,000 followers on X. “As the world’s highest IQ record holder, I officially declare that XRP Supercycle is just getting started,” he wrote. He also attached images of claimed verification certificates.
The post drew tens of thousands of views, likes, and reposts. Crypto accounts and outlets such as BSCNews amplified it within hours. As a result, a single tweet turned into a wider news cycle.
At the time, XRP traded near $1.05, with a market cap above $65 billion. Still, the token sat roughly 70% below its July 2025 all-time high. So the supercycle framing struck many as bold.
Kim’s words grabbed headlines, yet the technical setup did the heavy lifting.
First, the Tom DeMark (TD) Sequential indicator printed a “9” buy signal on the daily chart. Historically, that pattern precedes brief relief rallies lasting one to four candles. Therefore traders often watch it for timing.
Second, a Morning Star Doji candlestick formed near the $1.02 to $1.07 support zone. That pattern can hint at a reversal after a downtrend. Analysts suggest a break above $1.30 resistance would confirm momentum.
Third, on-chain activity climbed. Daily active addresses on the XRP Ledger rose from about 23,000 on June 14 to nearly 39,500 in late June. So network participation jumped roughly 72% in two weeks.
Coverage also pointed to broader tailwinds. Those include Ripple’s cross-border payments growth, recent UK FCA approvals, and early spot XRP ETF inflows. Together, they feed the wider bull case.
Kim, born May 25, 1989, brands himself as the “No.1 $XRP KOL.” His X bio claims the “World’s Highest IQ (276) Holder,” verified by World Memory Championships. He also lists academic and memory-sport titles across many fields.
He points to credentials from King’s College London, Korea University, and Yonsei University. In addition, he cites honorary doctorates and 2025 memory-sport roles. Supporters call him “The 2nd Tony Buzan,” after the mind-mapping pioneer.
That 276 figure sits at the center of his brand. However, independent experts treat it with deep skepticism. Standard IQ tests have ceilings far below that number.
Most reliable measurement stops well before 200 on the common SD15 scale. So psychometricians say a 276 score is effectively meaningless. Kim frames it as an SD24 result, roughly equal to 210 on SD15.
Investigations have not helped his case. VICE journalist Ralph Jones reportedly found no verifiable standardized test producing a 276 score. Meanwhile critics like Paul Cooijmans have called the claim implausible, and a Wikipedia article on Kim was deleted amid sourcing disputes.
Kim and his supporters reject the criticism as defamation. They point to listed verifications from various high-IQ societies and media mentions. For now, though, no conclusive raw evidence has been published.
Kim has made this call before. He flagged a supercycle in January 2026, said it was “confirmed” in March, and predicted $5 to $10 in May. So far, those calls have not played out as stated.
His incentives also deserve a mention. Kim founded $XRPS, a Solana-based memecoin named “XRP Supercycle,” launched around early June via Pump.fun. In late June, it traded near $0.0005, with a market cap in the low hundreds of thousands. He also advises the $VELVET project.
Because of that token, critics flag a clear conflict of interest. Promoting the supercycle narrative can directly benefit a coin he created. Therefore readers should weigh his calls against that motive.
The near-term picture leans cautiously bullish on the charts. A reclaim of $1.30 would give bulls their first real proof. Yet a fresh drop below $1.02 would weaken the setup quickly.
The longer story stays unproven. Historically, XRP cycle tops appear every three to five years. So if a bottom forms in 2026, some analysts eye a possible major top around 2028 to 2030.
For now, the XRP supercycle remains a claim backed by short-term signals and a disputed messenger. Traders should watch the $1.02 support and the $1.30 resistance closely. This article is not financial advice, and XRP and memecoins carry high volatility and risk.
