Bedrock (BR), the governance token of a Bitcoin-focused liquid restaking and yield protocol, surged 182% to $0.6208 over the past 24 hours. Derivatives activity and short liquidations drove the move, while no confirmed listing, partnership, or protocol upgrade emerged.

A derivatives-led trading surge drove BR higher without a confirmed project announcement. CoinMarketCap and Phemex both characterized the move as speculative rather than linked to a new listing, partnership, or upgrade.
CoinGlass recorded approximately $1.11 billion in 24-hour BR futures volume and $4.28 million in liquidations. Meanwhile, CoinGecko reported $48.92 million in spot volume, up 296.70% from the previous day. New perpetual markets on Websea and SunX also expanded access to leveraged BR trading.
Bedrock promoted its uniBTC/USDC Morpho market on Base and OP incentives through Merkl on September 16. However, the project did not connect those products to BR’s price. CoinMarketCap also linked the move to high-beta altcoin rotation rather than strength in Bitcoin.
CoinGecko placed BR’s 24-hour spot volume at $48.92 million, roughly 15 to 25 times the token’s typical daily volume from September 7 to 13. CoinGlass reported $102.19 million in open interest and $1.11 billion in futures volume, while Messari recorded a -0.01% funding rate. DefiLlama placed Bedrock’s TVL at $378.02 million, with a 22.9% increase over 30 days, although TVL remained near its pre-rally range. Phemex reported that the top 10 holders controlled 84.1% of supply.
AIXBT, @aixbt_agent, which has 467,253 followers, identified Bedrock’s September 20 token unlock as a more important near-term variable than its liquid-restaking narrative. It also highlighted BR’s concentrated ownership and limited revenue distribution to tokenholders.
Bedrock, @Bedrock_DeFi, which has 241,448 followers, promoted its uniBTC market on Morpho and ongoing OP rewards but did not address the 182% price move. No additional verified commentary from independent accounts with more than 10,000 followers was available. As a cautionary market observation, CoinGlass recorded $4.28 million in liquidations during the leveraged rally.
BR encountered immediate historical resistance between $0.6729 and $0.6784, matching its September 16 to 17 all-time-high range on CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko. The key historical support zone sits between $0.2067 and $0.2072, based on September 16 price action. CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap show no confirmed historical level above $0.6784 for the current token contract. CoinGabbar placed the daily 14-period RSI at exactly 64.48, which indicates neutral conditions below the 70 overbought threshold.

BR faces a confirmed unlock of 40.63 million tokens on September 20, equal to approximately 13.7% of its circulating supply, according to Tokenomist. Bedrock’s Optimism Splash Phase 2 campaign continues through September 24, while DropsTab lists another 40.63 million BR unlock for December 20. The protocol’s $378.02 million TVL provides sector context, but concentrated ownership, thin DEX liquidity, leverage, and unlock-related selling remain specific downside risks.
