Ripple Prime Delta One launches 24/7 total return swaps across U.S. equities, indices and digital assets for institutional clients.
Author: Kritika Gupta
27th Augsut 2026- Ripple has launched a Delta One business within Ripple Prime, giving hedge funds, asset managers, market makers and ETF issuers access to total return swaps on U.S.-listed equities, indices and digital assets.
The product combines these markets under one counterparty, cross-margining system and 24/7 platform. For Ripple, the launch marks another step toward becoming a full-service institutional financial provider. However, it does not automatically create value for XRP holders.

@Ripple The infrastructure play here is more interesting than the headline. Total return swaps let institutions take economic exposure to US equities, indices, and digital assets without the operational, custody, or balance-sheet friction of holding the cash instruments. Wrapping that in

Steady attention without excessive speculation.
Ripple Prime’s Delta One desk is already live. Clients can use total return swaps to gain exposure to an asset’s price movements and income without owning the underlying stock, index or cryptocurrency.
Ripple Prime has integrated the product with its existing foreign exchange, fixed-income, derivatives and digital-asset infrastructure. Therefore, institutions can manage several asset classes through one credit relationship.
The launch follows an upsized $275 million private placement of senior unsecured notes and a previous $200 million debt facility. Ripple says more than $1 billion in regulatory net capital supports the new desk.
Major Wall Street banks have offered Delta One products for decades. However, Ripple Prime is combining traditional equity derivatives and crypto within one continuously operating platform.
Ripple entered this market after completing its $1.25 billion acquisition of Hidden Road in October 2025. The company later rebranded the multi-asset prime broker as Ripple Prime.
Ripple says the business has since tripled its revenue, doubled client collateral and cleared roughly $3 trillion annually for more than 300 institutions.
Unlike some traditional Delta One desks, Ripple Prime says it does not operate a proprietary trading book alongside client activity. Still, it must compete with established players such as Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley on pricing, liquidity and balance-sheet capacity.
Crypto observers described the launch as Ripple’s deepest expansion into traditional finance. Meanwhile, XRP-focused accounts viewed it as part of a broader strategy spanning payments, RLUSD, custody and institutional trading.
However, Ripple’s corporate growth does not directly benefit XRP. XRP holders do not own Ripple or receive Ripple Prime’s profits. The token implication depends on whether future equity flows use XRPL settlement, XRP collateral or RLUSD liquidity.
A total return swap transfers an asset’s economic performance to a client in exchange for a financing rate. The client gains exposure without buying, borrowing or custodying the underlying asset.
Ripple Prime’s main advantage is cross-margining. Instead of posting separate collateral across equity, futures and crypto platforms, clients may offset exposures within one account. This structure could reduce collateral requirements and improve capital efficiency.
Additionally, the platform operates continuously, connecting traditional assets with always-on crypto markets.
Relative positioning against past updates or peers
Ripple Prime holds SEC broker-dealer registration, CFTC futures commission merchant status, FINRA and SIPC memberships, CME clearing access and FICC membership.
These licenses provide a strong foundation. Nevertheless, Ripple Prime remains smaller than established Wall Street franchises. Its success will depend on whether institutions value a single 24/7 multi-asset credit line enough to move business from existing providers.
For institutions, Ripple Prime offers synthetic equity exposure alongside crypto, foreign exchange and rates through one counterparty.
For Ripple, the launch strengthens its transformation from a crypto payments company into a multi-asset prime broker. Tokenized equities could become the next stage.
However, investors should separate Ripple’s business growth from XRP’s token economics. The key development to watch is whether Ripple eventually connects equity trading and settlement to XRPL, XRP or RLUSD. Until then, Delta One benefits Ripple’s institutional business more directly than the XRP token.
