The deal, announced on May 14, 2026, gives Polymarket exclusive rights to operate Serie A prediction markets for U.S. users. It also includes brand integrations across Serie A’s American media and digital channels. All markets will run on official league data provided through Genius Sports.
Under the agreement, Polymarket becomes the sole U.S. platform for Serie A prediction markets. These cover season outcomes, team qualifications, player props, and related scenarios. As a result, no other prediction market platform can offer official Serie A markets to American users.
Genius Sports will supply the official data layer for every market. The company already provides data services to major leagues including the NFL and the Premier League. Because of this integration, each market will benefit from accuracy, transparency, and integrity monitoring built on verified league data.
In addition, Polymarket gains brand visibility across Serie A’s U.S. media footprint. That means integrations in digital content, broadcast elements, and fan-facing channels targeting American audiences. The league will also feature Polymarket in its U.S.-focused social media campaigns.
This is not Polymarket’s first move into soccer. The platform signed a partnership with MLS and Leagues Cup in January 2026. Then, in April, it added LaLiga for the U.S. and Canadian markets.
The Serie A deal now gives Polymarket exclusive prediction market access to three of the world’s most-watched soccer leagues in the U.S. Meanwhile, the timing aligns directly with the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico starting in June.
Shayne Coplan, Polymarket’s founder and CEO, framed the Polymarket Serie A partnership around fan participation. “The next phase of sports engagement won’t be defined by more content, but by more participation,” Coplan said in the press release. “Prediction markets give fans a way to actively interpret the game in real time.”
Coplan also highlighted the unique timing. American interest in soccer is at an all-time high, and partnering with Serie A brings prediction markets to one of the world’s most followed leagues at exactly the right moment.
For Serie A, the partnership fits into a broader strategy to grow its American fanbase. Michele Ciccarese, the league’s Marketing and Commercial Director, called the U.S. a “key growth market” in the official announcement.
“Our exclusive alliance with Polymarket, as Regional Partner in the USA, lets us engage a new generation of fans through a platform that embodies emerging trends,” Ciccarese said. Specifically, the league sees prediction markets as a tool to convert passive viewers into active participants.
American interest in European soccer has surged in recent years. Streaming availability, social media coverage, and high-profile transfers have all contributed to growing U.S. viewership. As a result, European leagues are competing aggressively for American attention, and Serie A views this Polymarket partnership as a competitive edge.
The upcoming World Cup on American soil is expected to accelerate that trend even further. With matches in cities like New York, Los Angeles, and Miami, soccer’s visibility in the U.S. will reach unprecedented levels.
Polymarket already hosts active Serie A markets on its platform. These include predictions on the league winner, top-four finishes, Conference League qualifiers, and various player props. According to Polymarket’s Serie A page, some of these markets have attracted millions in trading volume.
The official data integration through Genius Sports should improve market accuracy going forward. It could also boost liquidity and engagement, since users will know the markets run on verified league data rather than third-party estimates.
This deal is separate from Polymarket’s arrangement with S.S. Lazio. In April 2026, the platform signed a multi-year front-of-shirt sponsorship with the Serie A club. That deal is valued at more than $22 million, plus performance bonuses. It runs through the 2027/28 season with an option to extend. Polymarket also became Lazio’s “Official Fan Intelligence & Digital Insight Partner,” marking the platform’s first shirt sponsorship with a major European club.
Polymarket’s rapid expansion into soccer represents a broader shift in how fans interact with live sports. Prediction markets offer real-time, crowd-sourced probabilities that sit between traditional sports betting and pure fan engagement. They allow users to stake positions on outcomes without the typical sportsbook structure.
The Genius Sports data layer and official league backing distinguish the Polymarket Serie A partnership from typical crypto sponsorships. These are structured deals with data integrity frameworks, not just logo placements. That institutional credibility could help prediction markets gain mainstream acceptance among sports audiences.
With three major soccer leagues now on board and the World Cup approaching, Polymarket is positioning itself as a central player in American soccer engagement. The coming months will test whether prediction markets can convert casual fans into active participants at scale.
