Steady attention without excessive speculation.
The peaq Doosan Robotics partnership went public through a peaq blog post. A follow-up X thread landed at 05:00 UTC on 17 September. So far, the concrete proof sits in one robot, one office, and one on-chain record.
peaq is installing its machine software, peaqOS, on the controller of a Doosan cobot. The company describes the stack as seven functions that a robot can switch on over time.
Those functions are Activate, Qualify, Verify, Scale, Stream, Monetize, and Tokenize. In plain terms, they cover identity, credit, attestation, payments, private learning, spare-capacity earning, and future tokenization.
Right now, only the early steps run on hardware. peaq says peaqOS runs on a single Doosan A0509 in its Berlin office. That unit is still in testing. This is a lab proof of concept, not a customer factory rollout.
Phase two moves that robot to a student cohort at the Technical University of Munich. A joint hackathon track runs there from 23 to 28 October 2026. So the next milestone is academic, not commercial.
The on-chain part is real and easy to check. peaq’s machine explorer lists the A0509 as Activated, homed on Solana, and bonded with 1,687.87 PEAQ through 16 September 2027.
The same page shows a Pro credit tier and a peaqID for the unit. Doosan appears as the manufacturer. The A-Series carries a 5 kg payload and a 900 mm reach, per its product manual.
What the record does not show matters just as much. There are no utilization hours, no task receipts, no revenue events, and no insurance policy on that page. There is also no tokenized asset, because peaq’s own roadmap marks Tokenize as coming soon.
In short, the on-chain identity and the bond are live. The machine-as-collateral financing is not on-chain yet.
The pitch rests on a simple gap. Today lenders finance the buyer and depreciate a robot on a fixed schedule, whatever its real use.
peaq argues that a verified performance record changes the math. If a machine can prove what it did, a lender or insurer could underwrite that serial number. That shifts risk off the factory’s books.
Idle time is the second lever. Companies buy cobots for the busy shift, so the arms sit unused for hours. Through Monetize, peaq wants those idle windows to sell spare compute, models, or robot hours.
Martin El-Khouri, peaq’s chief business officer, framed the shift in the announcement. “A robot that can prove what it did is a different asset from one that cannot,” El-Khouri said. He added that the machine “stops being a line of cost and becomes something a lender can actually assess.”
Michael Ryu, Head of Europe at Doosan Robotics, gave the maker’s view. “Our customers buy a robot for their busiest hour and pay for all the others,” Ryu said. He argued a robot should “earn in the hours nobody planned for.”

peaqOS does not replace Doosan’s robot controls. Instead, it is an omnichain layer for physical machines. It adds a decentralized identity, wallets, and a credit rating API, per the peaqOS product page.
Activate mints that identity and posts the bond in PEAQ. For this A0509, the bond came to 1,687.87 PEAQ at the Pro tier. That record acts as the machine’s on-chain birth certificate.
Privacy sits at the center of the design. peaq says operational data stays local. Stream shares only learned models or proofs with approved peers, not raw video.
The timing lines up with peaq’s own upgrades. Economics 2.0 went live on 1 September 2026. Solana-homed machines became possible on 16 September, the day peaq activated the A0509.
Several claims need a careful read. First, reporters found no matching press release on Doosan’s own news pages. So the only Doosan voice sits inside peaq-controlled channels.
Second, no Tier-1 outlet such as CoinDesk, Reuters, or Yonhap had covered the deal hours after launch. The main amplification came from the Solana account and crypto-native recaps.
That Solana framing also oversimplifies the tech. peaqOS is omnichain, and Solana is only this unit’s home chain, not the financing product itself.
The “top five cobot maker” label deserves a hedge too. Verified Market Research placed Doosan fifth at 7.8% share in March 2026. EVSINT ranked it eighth at about 4.4% in May. So the honest line is a major OEM ranked inside or just outside the top five.
Finally, skeptics note that machine credit scores may not carry legal weight with banks until proper credentials exist. For now, the financing pilots remain future tense, and Tokenize is still a roadmap item.
The token moved on the news. PEAQ traded near $0.024 into the 05:00 UTC thread. It printed as high as about $0.029 on 17 September, per CoinMarketCap. That marks a gain in the 10% to 20% range, with volume up several fold.
Aggregators disagreed intra-day, so treat any single tick with caution. CoinGecko showed a flatter print earlier the same day, which likely reflects a lagged cache rather than a different market.
Doosan stock told a quieter story. Shares on the Korea Exchange closed down 2.59% on 16 September. They rose about 2% on below-average volume the next day. So no clean causal link exists yet.
The road ahead runs through testing, then TUM, then more robots that peaq says are coming. Watch the machine explorer for the first real utilization or revenue events. That data will show whether the peaq Doosan Robotics partnership becomes a product or stays a demo.
