High attention and emotional sentiment detected.
The Harmony explorer shutdown ends the main public record of the old chain. After that date, a limited tool at migrate.country takes over. It only shows address activity and transactions since January 1, 2025.
The team posted the news on October 21 at 11:14 UTC. In the official post, Harmony said it is shutting down explorer.harmony.one on November 18.
A replacement tool will then go live on migrate.country. According to the team, it covers address activities and transactions since the start of 2025. Anyone who needs older data must act first.
So the instruction is direct. If you need any explorer data from before 2025, export it from the current explorer now. After the deadline, that path closes.
As of the research timestamp, no separate blog post or GitHub issue repeated the announcement. For now, the single X post is the primary source. Chinese-language outlets such as BlockBeats and Wu Blockchain quickly relayed it.
A block explorer indexes a chain so anyone can search addresses, transactions, blocks, and contracts. In short, it is the public window into on-chain history.
Because of this, losing the official explorer removes the maintained source of Harmonyās full history. The new lookup tool only reaches back to 2025. As a result, pre-2025 records become hard to retrieve through official channels.
This hits several groups at once. Holders may need old records for taxes, audits, or proof of activity. Developers and auditors may need to verify older contracts or transactions.
Anyone reconstructing the 2022 bridge hack or the 2026 minting exploit also loses easy access. Third-party explorers or archive nodes may fill part of the gap. Still, official support ends on November 18.
The Harmony explorer shutdown follows a bigger event. The Layer-1 mainnet already went dark earlier this year.
Harmony stopped producing blocks around September 10, 2026. Validators were allowed to switch off from 7 a.m. PT that day. The last explorer block sat near height 93,624,315.
Before the halt, the team snapshotted ONE balances for migration. Those balances moved to an ERC-20 token on Ethereum. Major exchanges, including Binance and KuCoin, later switched ONE deposits to the Ethereum version.
Meanwhile, the infrastructure kept winding down. RPC providers Ankr and Tatum retired their Harmony endpoints. DefiLlama now marks the chain as deprecated, with total value locked at zero.
The replacement at migrate.country is narrower than a full explorer. It focuses on address activity and transactions since January 1, 2025. So it serves the migration window, not the whole chain.
That design makes sense for one job. It helps users confirm recent balances and claim their migrated ONE on Ethereum. For everything older, though, it offers no cover.
Third-party multi-chain explorers may have indexed Harmony data along the way. Archive nodes could also preserve parts of the record. Still, none of these carry official backing, and coverage may be patchy.
So the safest move is a manual export. Pull your full transaction history now, while the official explorer still answers. A local copy will outlast any shutdown date.
Stephen Tse founded Harmony in 2018, and the mainnet launched in June 2019. The token peaked near $0.38 in late October 2021.
Then came the damage. In June 2022, the Horizon bridge lost roughly $100 million in a hack. The FBI and analysts later attributed it to North Koreaās Lazarus Group.
Activity faded after that incident. In August 2026, a flaw in cross-shard receipt verification allowed the unauthorized minting of trillions of ONE, according to the teamās own reports. An emergency patch and a rollback plan followed.
Soon after, the September 6 proposal called for a full sunset. The team cited threats from state actors and AI agents. It also pivoted its public messaging to an AI video project.
Harmony: from mainnet launch to explorer shutdown
Harmony introduces its Layer-1 network.
ONE reaches an all-time high near $0.38.
Attackers drain approximately $100 million from the Horizon bridge.
Recovery proposals fail to deliver full reimbursement as the team and ecosystem contract.
Harmony stops network operations and begins migrating ONE to Ethereum.
Harmony announces the explorerās closure and a replacement lookup tool covering activity since January 1, 2025.
Users must export pre-2025 records from the existing explorer before this date.
The price barely moved on the news. ONE traded near $0.00143 around October 21, according to CoinMarketCap. That sits about 99.6% below its 2021 peak.
Market cap hovered near $20 million, with 24-hour volume around $7 million. In short, the market had already priced in the sunset back in September.
For holders, the practical steps are clear. First, export any pre-2025 transaction history from explorer.harmony.one before November 18. Then confirm your ONE balance migrated to the Ethereum ERC-20 contract.
Also check whether your exchange completed its migration. The Harmony explorer shutdown is the last visible piece of a chain that already stopped. So the window to save old records is closing fast. This article is not financial advice.
