Decentralized exchanges have grown rapidly, but professional traders continue to face limitations around execution speed, slippage, front-running, and wallet exposure. While centralized exchanges offer efficiency, they require full custody and expose users to regulatory, counterparty, and surveillance risks.
This gap has driven demand for non-custodial trading terminals that combine CEX-like performance with on-chain settlement. Over 2024–2025, traders increasingly migrated toward aggregators, intent-based execution, and privacy layers to protect strategy and capital.
Genius Terminal emerged from this shift, positioning itself as a privacy-first execution layer rather than a traditional liquidity pool or exchange.
The investment was led by YZi Labs, the family office associated with CZ and Yi He. While the exact amount was not disclosed, sources describe the round as multi-eight-figure, marking a significant capital commitment.
With CZ joining as Genius Terminal advisor, the project gains strategic guidance from one of the most experienced exchange builders in crypto history. His advisory role is expected to focus on product scaling, execution reliability, user growth, and exchange-grade infrastructure design.
Genius Terminal operates as an on-chain trading terminal that aggregates liquidity across more than 300 decentralized venues and multiple blockchains. Rather than maintaining its own liquidity pools, it routes trades across existing DEX infrastructure to achieve optimal pricing.
A key differentiator is its privacy execution layer, which uses multi-party computation (MPC) to fragment trades across numerous wallets often referred to as “Ghost Orders.” This design reduces front-running, strategy leakage, and wallet traceability while remaining fully self-custodial.
The platform supports advanced order types such as limit orders, stop losses, and take profits, aiming to replicate professional trading workflows without centralized custody.
Relative positioning of Genius Terminal’s YZi Labs funding update vs prior Genius milestones and comparable competitor expansions
That CZ joins as Genius Terminal advisor carries both symbolic and practical weight. CZ’s experience scaling global exchange infrastructure, liquidity systems, and user acquisition provides Genius Terminal with insight rarely available to DeFi-native teams.
As regulatory pressure on centralized exchanges increases and traders seek alternatives that preserve privacy and control, platforms capable of matching CEX performance on-chain may attract meaningful volume. CZ’s involvement signals confidence that this category is not experimental but foundational.
According to the team, the new funding will support:
Genius Terminal has already processed tens of millions of dollars in volume during its soft-launch phase, with a broader public rollout expected later in 2026.
