High attention and emotional sentiment detected.
The result landed on October 5, when the official @ClearpoolFin account announced the outcome. On Snapshot, 37.2 million votes backed the move, while only 1.1 million opposed it. So the mandate is clear, even if the exact timeline is not.
The vote covered three linked changes. First, it approves a 1:1 swap from CPOOL to a new token called CLEAR. Second, it approves the expansion to the XRP Ledger. Third, it approves a treasury recapitalisation to fund the next phase.
Voting ran on Snapshot from September 24 to October 2. The proposal then passed with 97.16% support and zero abstentions. Anyone can review the full tally on the Snapshot proposal page.
Clearpool is a decentralized marketplace for institutional credit. Jakob Kronbichler co-founded the protocol and serves as its CEO. The team launched CPOOL in October 2021. Since then, it has originated roughly $965 million in loans, according to its own figures.
Clearpoolās XRPL expansion moves from a September governance proposal to an October approval, with the CPOOL -> CLEAR migration targeted for Q4 2026 but not yet dated.
Clearpool proposes XRPL expansion, a 1:1 CPOOL -> CLEAR migration and treasury recapitalisation.
The Snapshot vote opens for CPOOL holders, with voting scheduled through 2 October.
The Snapshot vote closes with 97.16% support for the XRPL expansion and CPOOL -> CLEAR migration.
Clearpool confirms the proposal passed and targets the CLEAR migration for Q4 2026.
The migration tool, token contracts, exchange support and exact migration date remain unannounced.
Under the plan, each CPOOL token converts into one CLEAR token. All converted tokens also unlock immediately at migration. CLEAR launches as an ERC-20, and part of the new supply bridges to the XRP Ledger for incentives.
Meanwhile, the existing EVM marketplace keeps running. Clearpool plans to launch a migration tool during its second implementation phase. The team frames that window as roughly four to ten weeks after approval.
Still, the team has not confirmed an exact date. Instead, the official post simply targets Q4 2026 for the swap.
Clearpool wants to build institutional credit products natively on the XRP Ledger. To do that, it relies on two proposed standards, XLS-65 and XLS-66. XLS-65 defines single-asset vaults, while XLS-66 defines a lending protocol.
Developers have already tested both standards on XRPL Devnet. However, the standards still need approval from XRPL validators through an amendment vote. Reports put support near the 80% threshold, so activation is not yet guaranteed.
The move also builds on earlier work with Ripple. In August, Ripple, Cicada Partners, and Clearpool announced a credit fund that lends RLUSD to fintechs. Ripple joined as a limited partner, and the fund settles on XRPL.
Clearpool frames the shift as a bigger identity change. According to its governance page, the protocol wants to become āthe Morpho for private credit on the XRP Ledger.ā
The 1:1 ratio sounds simple, yet the total supply still grows. At migration, supply rises from 1 billion CPOOL to 1.125 billion CLEAR. Over three years, further unlocks push it toward roughly 1.43 billion.
New CLEAR splits across four buckets. Existing holders get 70% through the 1:1 conversion. Treasury and partnerships take 15%, ecosystem incentives take 10%, and contributors take 5% behind a 12-month cliff.
To offset the extra supply, the proposal commits 50% of protocol fees to open-market CLEAR buybacks and permanent burns. Still, some community members question whether buybacks can match the dilution.
One widely shared community note put the concern plainly. It asked whether the new tokenomics ācan create enough value capture to offset the additional supply.ā A few secondary trackers added confusion, too, by claiming supply stays unchanged. The proposal and September coverage both contradict that claim.
Several details remain unconfirmed for now. The team has not published the CLEAR contract address or the migration contract address. It also has not set firm migration start and end dates.
The status of unmigrated CPOOL is unclear as well. The announcement does not say what happens to tokens left behind, or to balances held on exchanges. So holders should watch for official instructions before they act.
Market data also stayed modest around the vote. CPOOL traded near $0.037 in early October, according to DefiLlama data. That put its market cap near $31.75 million, far below its $2.55 all-time high. Clearpoolās combined TVL sat around $78.47 million in the same snapshot.
Early social reaction stayed muted as well. The announcement drew modest engagement, with a mix of bullish replies and dilution questions. So the 97% result signals strong insider support rather than a broad retail frenzy.
The vote settles the direction, but the hard part starts now. Clearpool must ship the migration tool, deploy CLEAR, and win XRPL validator approval for its credit products. Each step carries its own timeline risk.
For now, the CPOOL to CLEAR migration remains a plan with strong backing and an open calendar. Holders can track updates through the official governance page and the @ClearpoolFin account.
