Cathie Wood Predicts a Crypto Revolution Under Trump

ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood shared her views on how Donald Trump’s return to the White House could reshape the cryptocurrency market. Speaking on Bloomberg’s ETF IQ, Wood highlighted early indicators of a crypto-friendly administration, including recent appointments and policy signals.

Crypto-Friendly Leadership and Regulation

Wood praised the appointment of Paul Atkins as SEC commissioner, describing him as “pro-crypto.” She predicted that his leadership could bring regulatory clarity or even deregulation, fostering growth in the digital asset space.

She likened the emergence of Trump-themed meme coins, such as Official Trump, to the 2017 ICO boom, emphasizing their role in introducing cryptocurrency to new audiences. “The ICO movement in 2017 brought this technology to a whole new group of people,” Wood said.

ARK Invest’s Strategy: Focus on the “Big Three”

While discussing ARK Invest’s approach, Wood affirmed their focus on Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana over speculative meme coins. She highlighted ARK’s ARKB fund as one of the largest spot Bitcoin ETFs and emphasized their continued exposure to Ethereum and Solana through private funds.

Optimism Amid Policy Shifts

Wood expressed optimism about Trump’s economic agenda, stating it could turn “fear into optimism” and “unleash animal spirits.” She noted how ARK’s innovation-focused investment strategies are benefiting from increased risk appetite in the market.

Wood concluded by saying that political support, regulatory advancements, and a shift in market dynamics under Trump’s administration could significantly accelerate cryptocurrency adoption.
