Vitalik Buterin

Vitalik Buterin is a Russian-Canadian computer programmer and writer best known as the co-founder of Ethereum, one of the most prominent and influential blockchain platforms in the world. Born on January 31, 1994, in Kolomna, Russia, he moved to Canada as a child. He showed an early interest in mathematics and computer science, and at just 19 years old, he proposed the concept of Ethereum in a 2013 white paper.

Ethereum, launched in 2015, introduced smart contracts, which allow decentralized applications (dApps) to run on the blockchain a major advancement beyond Bitcoin’s original capabilities. Buterin has been a central figure in the crypto space, known for his technical insight, open collaboration, and commitment to decentralization and social impact.
