Trung Nguyen

Trung Nguyễn is the co-founder and CEO of Sky Mavis, the company behind Axie Infinity and its governance token AXS. A Vietnamese software engineer, he helped launch Axie in 2018 after being inspired by CryptoKitties, playing a key role in its technical and economic design. The game became one of the biggest successes in blockchain gaming, with millions of users and a multi-billion-dollar valuation at its peak.

In March 2022, Sky Mavis was hit by a $600 million hack on the Ronin network. Around that time, Trung transferred about $3 million worth of AXS to Binance, raising insider trading concerns. He and the company stated the move was intended to provide liquidity and stabilize the market. Despite the controversy, Trung remains a central figure in blockchain gaming innovation.
