Silvio-Micali

Silvio Micali is the founder of Algorand and a world-renowned cryptographer. A professor at MIT and recipient of the Turing Award, he pioneered key innovations like zero-knowledge proofs and verifiable random functions, which form the foundation of modern cryptography.

In 2017, he launched Algorand, a blockchain platform based on his Pure Proof-of-Stake consensus, designed to solve the blockchain trilemma: security, scalability, and decentralization. Micali remains deeply involved in research and development at Algorand.
