Sam-Williams

Sam Williams is the founder of Arweave, a blockchain protocol for permanent data storage, and AO, a decentralized supercomputer built on top of Arweave. With a background in distributed systems, Williams created Arweave to preserve important information on-chain and combat the loss of digital history. AO expands this vision by enabling horizontally scalable, verifiable computation through parallel processing and message-passing between independent compute units.

AO is designed to rival traditional cloud services by allowing developers to deploy decentralized applications, autonomous agents, and AI models directly on-chain. It emphasizes protocol neutrality, simplicity (using Lua-based virtual machines), and strong economic incentives for secure computation. Together, Arweave and AO aim to create a foundation for a truly decentralized, censorship-resistant, and permanent internet.
