Gilles-Fedak

Gilles Fedak is a French computer scientist and entrepreneur best known as the co-founder and CEO of iExec RLC, a decentralized cloud computing platform. With a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Université Paris Sud and a research career at INRIA, he specialized in distributed and grid computing, developing pioneering software like XtremWeb and BitDew. His academic contributions earned him recognition, including the PIFI Award from the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

In 2016, Fedak launched iExec to create a blockchain-based marketplace for computing resources, enabling users to securely rent or monetize computing power, data, and applications through Ethereum smart contracts. The project’s native token, RLC, powers transactions within the ecosystem and was part of France’s first major ICO in 2017, raising $12.5 million in under three hours. Under Fedak’s leadership, iExec has expanded into confidential computing, oracles, and Web3/AI integration, aiming to provide scalable, privacy-preserving infrastructure for decentralized applications.
