Charlie-Lee

Charlie Lee is the creator of Litecoin, launched in 2011 as a faster, lighter alternative to Bitcoin. Born in 1977 in the Ivory Coast and educated at MIT, Lee worked at Google and later Coinbase before dedicating himself full-time to Litecoin. He founded the Litecoin Foundation in 2016 and continues to lead it as Managing Director. Known for promoting transparency, Lee sold most of his Litecoin holdings in 2017 to avoid conflicts of interest. As of 2025, he remains active in the crypto space, recently joining the advisory board of Luxxfolio Holdings.
