Gavin Wood is the founder of Polkadot, a multi-chain blockchain platform designed to enable interoperability between different blockchains. He launched Polkadot to solve scalability and fragmentation issues in the blockchain ecosystem by allowing independent chains, known as parachains, to communicate and share security through a central relay chain.
Wood is a prominent figure in blockchain technology and also a co-founder of Ethereum, where he authored the Ethereum Yellow Paper and served as its first CTO. With a background in computer science and programming language design, he later founded Parity Technologies and developed Polkadot’s underlying Substrate framework, positioning the network as a foundation for a scalable and interconnected Web3 ecosystem.
