Pineapple Financial launches a $100M Injective Treasury with an $8.9M INJ purchase, pioneering institutional staking and RWA tokenization.

October 7, 2025 — Toronto-based fintech Pineapple Financial (NYSE American: PAPL) has activated its $100 million Injective Treasury, marking the first institutional treasury strategy fully anchored to a blockchain-native token. The initiative began with an open-market acquisition of 678,353 INJ tokens valued at $8.9 million, all to be staked on-chain for an estimated 12.75% annual yield—nearly double Ethereum’s rate.
The Injective Treasury launch positions Pineapple at the crossroads of traditional finance and blockchain innovation. The company intends to integrate Injective’s infrastructure into its $2.5 billion mortgage operations, using tokenization to unlock real-world assets (RWAs) and improve liquidity.
Founded in 2019, Pineapple Financial disrupted the Canadian mortgage industry through AI-driven loan processing before pivoting to blockchain in 2025. Injective, a Cosmos SDK-based Layer-1, supports derivatives and RWA products, making it a natural partner for this new financial experiment.
The announcement has driven notable market activity, with INJ prices rising 5–7% to around $13.10 and trading volume up 30%. Analysts expect Pineapple’s planned $100 million deployment to add $90 million in cumulative buy pressure over the coming quarters, potentially boosting INJ’s market performance by 15–25%.
