Raika Sternensucher, a highly experienced Senior Research Scientist and Software Engineer, has joined the Qubic Core developer team. With expertise in Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Computer Vision, and AI, Sternensucher is poised to make significant contributions to Qubic’s core technologies.
A Career in Advanced Computing
Sternensucher brings almost four years of experience from Google, where she worked in the company’s Augmented Reality team, contributing to the development of next-generation computing technology. Her prior academic achievements include a PhD in Computer Science from the Max Planck Institute for Informatics and Saarland University. During her PhD, she specialized in real-time 3D hand reconstruction using a single camera, which earned her numerous awards and opportunities, including research at Stanford University and an internship at Meta (formerly Facebook Reality Labs).
Contributing to the Qubic Core
In her new role, Sternensucher will focus on optimizing Qubic’s core network. Her proficiency in C++ and parallel computing will be critical to enhancing the network’s performance and scalability. Her understanding of TCP communication and experience with Linux and container technologies will also support the efficient operation of Qubic’s infrastructure.
